Screening
Colon cancer screening
Screening finds polyps and early cancers before they cause symptoms. For adults at average risk it starts at 45. A family history, a past polyp or bowel symptoms can mean starting earlier.
Services
We are proud to offer a full spectrum of services to our patients to treat a variety of conditions. Our highly trained professionals have years of experience in diagnosing and treating these conditions, and we are happy to help find a solution to best suit your individual needs.
We strive to create individualized treatment plans for each of our patients as each person has a unique history and unique needs. Some of our services include:
Screening
Screening finds polyps and early cancers before they cause symptoms. For adults at average risk it starts at 45. A family history, a past polyp or bowel symptoms can mean starting earlier.
Procedure
An exam of the lining of the entire colon with a thin, flexible camera. Polyps can be removed during the same procedure. Dr. Saha performs colonoscopy at Carnegie Hill Endoscopy Center.
Procedure
A camera exam of the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine, used to find the cause of reflux, trouble swallowing, ulcers or upper abdominal symptoms. Performed at Carnegie Hill Endoscopy Center.
Symptom
Belly pain has many causes, from the stomach and bowel to the gallbladder and liver. We start with your history and an exam, and order only the tests that will change the plan.
Symptom
Upper abdominal discomfort, fullness after meals, nausea or burning. We look for a treatable cause such as ulcer disease, reflux or H. pylori infection, and use endoscopy when your symptoms or age call for it.
Symptom
Food that sticks, pain when swallowing, or a feeling that something is caught in the throat or chest deserves attention. We look for causes such as reflux, narrowing of the esophagus or problems with how it moves, often with an upper endoscopy.
Symptom
Common, and usually manageable. We look at diet, bowel habits and medications, and check for conditions such as celiac disease or lactose intolerance when the pattern points to them.
Symptom
A change in bowel habits that lasts more than a few weeks deserves an answer. We find the cause, treat it, and make sure nothing more serious is behind it.
Symptom
Bleeding is often from hemorrhoids, but it should never be assumed. Evaluation may include a colonoscopy.
Condition
Heartburn and regurgitation that keep coming back may be gastroesophageal reflux disease. Treatment ranges from diet and medication changes to endoscopy when symptoms persist.
Condition
Small growths in the lining of the colon. Some can turn into cancer over time, which is why they are found and removed during colonoscopy.
Condition
A change in the lining of the lower esophagus, most often after long-standing reflux, that slightly raises the risk of esophageal cancer. It is diagnosed with upper endoscopy and biopsies and then monitored over time.
Condition
Inflammation of the stomach lining, often from H. pylori infection, anti-inflammatory pain medicines or alcohol. It causes upper abdominal discomfort or nausea, and is treated once the cause is found.
Condition
A common disorder of how the gut works, causing cramping, bloating and changes in bowel habits. It is diagnosed after other conditions are ruled out and treated with diet, medication and attention to triggers.
Condition
An immune reaction to gluten that damages the lining of the small intestine and can cause diarrhea, bloating, weight loss or anemia. Blood tests and an upper endoscopy with biopsies confirm the diagnosis, and treatment is a gluten-free diet with follow-up.
Condition
A chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part of the digestive tract. We confirm the diagnosis with endoscopy, imaging and lab tests, then manage it with a long-term plan.
Condition
A chronic inflammatory disease of the colon and rectum. Care includes confirming the diagnosis, controlling flares and monitoring the colon over time.
Condition
Inflammation or infection of small pouches in the wall of the colon, causing lower abdominal pain, fever and changes in bowel habits. We treat flares and plan follow-up, including a colonoscopy after recovery when appropriate.
Condition
Swollen veins in the rectum or anus that can cause bleeding, itching or pain. Most respond to simple measures, once we have ruled out other causes of bleeding.
Condition
Hardened deposits in the gallbladder that can cause pain in the upper right abdomen and nausea, and sometimes infection or pancreatitis if a stone blocks a duct. We evaluate symptoms with imaging and blood tests and guide next steps, including surgical referral when needed.
Condition
Sores in the lining of the stomach or first part of the small intestine, often linked to H. pylori infection or anti-inflammatory pain medicines. Testing and treatment usually heal them.
Primary care
Yearly checkups with an internal medicine approach: preventive screening, blood work, and a review of your medications and risk factors.
